once i was at a busy intersection in my car waiting for a break in the traffic so i could get in. i was concentrating so intensly on seeing an opportunity to make my turn that I didn't notice this old man start to walk by my car on the sidewalk in front. it just so happened i saw my chance to go just as he was stepping in front of me. I hit the gas but saw the old man and braked a second later. I barely moved but i scared the shit out of the poor old guy. He almost fell down. I felt bad later but at the time I couldn't help it and just started laughing. To my friend sitting in the passenger seat it must have seemed like I had done it intentionally to fuck with the old guy. Especially since I started laughing maniacally right after.
