my mom always listens to sting's "field of gold" greatest hits album while cleaning and has since i was a little kid, usually on sunday mornings alone (just the two of us). it's comforting. same with my dad and his insomnious use of the moody blues to wake me up for company. i think i'm the only 19 year old who hears knights in white satin and gets nostalgic. my ex-boyfriend used to make fun of me over this and ever since i've been ashamed to admit that i like this sort of music in front of other people, but i do. it really calms me down when i'm having a bad day or something, thinking about mom and sting or dad and his days of future passed.
